Era of Misery — Greed and Evil enslave the Kitty-verse!

Thousands of years after the Golden Era, other beings developed a thirst for power. Not being content with what they had, these beings began to colonize more and more. They sought to upturn all the good that was created. As the Kitty-verse expanded, the number of inhabitants increased too, and the prophecy of greed has come to pass. Maintaining the delicate balance that the Ethereal Forces yearned for grew harder and harder. As the burden on our feline Guardians increased, their moods soured. A mysterious group, only known to others as the Banking Guild caused most of their troubles, dividing people and consolidating power to themselves, preying upon the weak Kittens in the Kitty-verse.

The Guardians in their wisdom at the “Meeting of the Pillars”, decided to leave the beings to their own devices. Finally, the Guardians of one of the galaxies attempted a revolt, but this was quickly destroyed by the forces of the Banking Guild, all 8 Guardians perished, leaving only 88 Guardians left. Slavery continued and this era of ten thousand years to be known as the “Era of Misery”. The Banking Guild imposed restrictions on galactic travel. Travel through the galaxy was only possible with the explicit permission of the Banking Guild. All forms of Artificially Intelligent systems were banned, and manual labour was deemed as the only way forward. They created laws and harsh punishments for anyone found flouting these rules. But nothing can break the Kittens’ will, for they know that they would be sure to survive!
